The assessment results of spring cereal stem base and root system infestation by fungal pathogens are presented. The crops were cultivated in multi-species cereal monoculture: oat – winter wheat – catch crop – spring barley – winter triticale. The studies based on field experiment set up on the soil of very good rye complex were conducted in Grabów ES of Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute in Puławy, Poland, in 2005–2007. Three plant protection strategies: Syngenta, DuPont and BASF were the experimental factors. In the control treatment no chemical against fungal diseases were applied. Among studied strategies BASF fungicides showed better effectiveness in the control of lower internodes fungal diseases. It was difficult to indicate the best strategy in the case of oat, which is not sensitive to take-all pathogens.
