Survey were carried out to evaluate the quality of welded joints of steels used in power generation plants. The evaluation was based on studies of mechanical properties such as tensile, bending, impact resistance and hardness. Compared were joints made of different materials by the same method, with joints of homogeneous materials made by different technologies.
In this paper a concept for the assessment of the influence of welded joint presence on the fatigue performance under cyclic bending is shown. Activities include nondestructive quality testing, metallographic examination, micro hardness and fatigue tests. Specimens were made of 3 grades of low carbon structural steel: S235, S355, P460 and its welded joints in every combination.
In this paper the concept of verification of the Neuber’s stress averaging theory is presented. Using finite element method the coefficient K, was caleulated. Also concept of further work are presented.
In this paper an investigation of grain size influence on mechanical properties of ferritic- pearlitic steels is shown.
