Conducted study concerned the evaluation of nutritive value of roughages from grasslands in dependence on conservation methods. During the years 1986-1990 and 1993-1995 the study were conducted on grasslands situated on mineral soils in different regions of the country. In experimental farms were compared two or three technologies of conservation: hay traditionally dried on the surface of the meadow, hay dried with the use of fans and silages with increased dry matter content. Besides of chemical analyses the fodders were tested in animal production on fattened cattle. The best production effects gave silages, especially from big bales, next hay dried with the use of fans and hay traditionally dried on the surface of the meadow.
