Advancing globalization provides access to more information. It also affects the frequency of data. Some events are listed on a monthly, daily and even minute basis. Thus, during the time-space study selecting appropriate and relevant information becomes a problem. The paper presents a suggested solution to this problem based on the example of stock exchanges in Central and Eastern Europe.

Consumer's behaviour in the market is a widely studied and analysed problem. Complexity of social, economic and psychological determinants that influence consumer's decision process is a reason for multilevel and multi-factor approaches to analyse this problem. Therefore the aim of this paper is to describe application of parametric regression model for the effectiveness of advertising. The study described is based on a survey covering 550 consumers of dairy product, all of age over 15 and living in one of the nine biggest Polish agglomerations. Built models were examined and verified statistically. Obtained results clearly show that the approach chosen to describe AIDA model is an appropriate method for analysing impact of advertisement on consumer's decision making process.

The diversity and multiplicity of information associated with investment in the stock market can cause problems with the proper understanding of the analyzed phenomena. In particular it refers to small investors who invest directly in stocks. Therefore, evaluating the financial condition of listed companies is very important, hence the need to use methods that will simplify and thus make stock market analysis easier. This paper presents an attempt to apply the selected financial ratios for the classification of 17 real estate companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange into groups characterized by a similar economic condition. In the study multidimensional comparative analysis was used, i.e. Ward’s method and the method of k-means. The analysis was carried out in the period 2010-2012. In the experiment it was proved that using Ward’s method could identify companies with the weakest condition.

The concept of local development remains a crucial one, especially in the context of European Union membership and its support funds. The multidimensional character of local development makes it a subject of interest not only to economists, but also geographers, sociologists and statisticians. The aim of the paper is to present differences in the level of socio-economic development of semi-urban and rural gminas in Poland and to find clusters of gminas with a similar level of development. Hellwig’s method was used to compare 2,174 gminas, which showed large development disparities. There is a clear boundary between Eastern Poland with Mazowieckie Voivodship, where the country’s capital, Warsaw, is located, and Western Poland. gminas with a high level of development were observed usually on Poland’s Baltic coast and suburban areas of Warsaw, Szczecin, Poznań, Wrocław and Kraków. Low level gminas were mostly situated in the peripheries of the eastern voivodships.
