Boleslaus V (1453–1488) was the son of Boleslaus IV and Kiev princess Barbara Olelkovna. In 1471–1488 he ruled Warsaw and Nur lands, and in 1471–1484, Zakroczym land. Rule of Boleslaus V is viewed negatively. Increasingly frequent sales and pledging of land has led to diminishment of ducal demesne in Warsaw, Zakroczym and Nur lands as well as sale of Błonie, Tarczyn and Kamieniec counties. Lack of money and financial problems with repayment of debts has led to Boleslaus V becoming dependent not only on his brothers – Konrad III and Janusz II of Płock, but also on wealthy nobles and Warsaw patricians. In 1477 the duke married Anna Radzanowska, whom he soon abandoned. He died on 27 April 1488. He was buried on 12 May 1488 in St John collegiate church in Warsaw

Adam Wolff (1899–1984) was an eminent archivist, expert on the history of Mazovia and Warsaw city, the editor of the late medieval written sources. From 1924 to 1954 he worked at the Central Archives of Historical Records. The archival works of Wolff were closely connected with his ongoing scientific research that focused on the preparation of a list of officials of the Duchy of Mazovia and the study on the Mazovian Register. Before World War II he also developed a register of parchment documents of The Krasiński Library and published Mazowieckie zapiski herbowe z XV i XVI w. [The Mazovian Heraldic Notes from 15th–16th c.] Particularly noteworthy is his work (published in 1929) devoted to the Mazovian Register. After World War II, Wolff worked at The Central Archives of Historical Records as a Head of the Department of the Old Polish Records, and in 1949 he was appointed Professor at the Warsaw University. During his 30–year–old career in The Central Archives of Historical Records he took part in the preparation of guidelines on the elaboration of documents in the Polish archives and dictionary entries to the Polish Archival Dictionary. At that time he also worked on the edition of Księga radziecka miasta Starej Warszawy z lat 1447–1527 [A Register of the Court of the City Council of the Old Warsaw City 1447-1527], and prepared Projekt instrukcji wydawniczej dla pisanych źródeł historycznych do połowy XVI w. [Project of a publishing instruction for written historical sources created up to the mid–16th century]. 1950 together with Prof. K. Kuraszkiewicz he published valuable notes and the Polish troops oaths of loyalty of 15th and 16th c. from the books of the land court in Warsaw city. In addition to the scientific and archival work, Wolff conducted classes at the Historical Institute of the Warsaw University. In 1954 he moved to work at the Institute of History of Material Culture, Polish Academy of Sciences, and became Head of the Editing Department.

Bodzanów parish was probably established at the turn of 12th and 13th century, when the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was being built. Since late 17th century, the parish was a part of Bodzanów dekanate, which in turn was a part of Płock archdiaconate, Płock diocese. In October 1774, Norbertine canonesses from Płock have proposed Maciej Garnysz (Dean of Włocławek and Canon of Płock) to Bishop of Płock Jerzy Michał Poniatowski, as candidate for the position of parson in Bodzanów. The document, edited in the source annex, is a valuable source document for the history of Bodzanów parish. The annex also includes a list of abbesses and provosts of St Mary Magdalene Abbey in Płock since mid-16th century until the end of 18th century

Tomasz Niewodniczański (1933–2010) was a nuclear physicist and entrepreneur, as well as the owner of one of the largest and most valuable collections of Polish memorabilia after World War II. Tomasz Niewodniczański’s collection consists of two parts. The first part comprises maps, and the second part consists of archival materials. In 2009, Niewodniczański made his collection available indefinitely to the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The collection includes parchment and paper documents (14th–19th century), manuscripts and autographs of prominent politicians and artists (approx. 4,700 items), old prints (approx. 1,000 items), books with dedications by writers and poets, bookplates, medals, antique coins, treasury notes and bonds. Cartographic materials constitute a major part of the collection. The nearly 3,000 items include pocket and wall maps depicting primarily the lands of the First Republic (approx. 2500 items), old atlases (40 volumes) and old vistas of Polish cities (approx. 150 prints).

Piotr Chodkowski, the Chancellor of the Princes of Mazovia, Bishop of Płock, was one of the greatest scholars of Mazovia of the late 15th c. He was a son of yokel-miller from Chodkowo (village belonging to the Płock cathedral chapter) in the Land of Wyszogród. He graduated from the University of Cracow and further studied in Bologna where he completed his doctorate in medicine. After returning to Mazovia Piotr was an educator of the younger sons of Bolesław IV, Prince of Mazovia. After the death of Jan Słęka from Główczyn (1471) he became chancellor of the princes: Bolesław V and Janusz II. He was responsible for the metric and a treasury book of the ducal court. Work at the office and princely patronage brought him numerous benefices and high revenue. The culmination of his ecclesiastical career was appointment for the bishopric at Płock in December 1480. As the bishop he convened three synods, also took care of other needs of the diocese. He was the founder of the chapel of St. Peter in the cathedral in Płock, Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Pułtusk, and other sacred works and charities. He died in August 1497 and was buried in the cathedral in Płock, in the chapel he founded.

The notion of Poisson Lie group (sometimes called Poisson Drinfel'd group) was first introduced by Drinfel'd [1] and studied by Semenov-Tian-Shansky [7] to understand the Hamiltonian structure of the group of dressing transformations of a completely integrable system. The Poisson Lie groups play an important role in the mathematical theories of quantization and in nonlinear integrable equations. The aim of our lecture is to point out the naturality of this notion and to present basic facts about Poisson Lie groups together with some relations to the recent work on quantum groups.

The main result says that nondiscrete, weakly closed, containing no nontrivial linear subspaces, additive subgroups in separable reflexive Banach spaces are homeomorphic to the complete Erdős space. Two examples of such subgroups in $ℓ^1$ which are interesting from the Banach space theory point of view are discussed.
