This article presents the results of a research on the history of Polish studies at the University of Toronto. First it discusses the history Polish programs in the Unites States and Canada, then characterizes the Slavic at University of Toronto from its beginning in the 50s of the past century, the origins of the formation of the Polish studies and its evolution in time till the 2016. In addition, the profiles of lecturers and professors of Polish studies have been also characterized. This is the first and original publication focusing on the Polish studies in Toronto, its history and origin.
