This article looks at the social functioning of young people with mental disorders, and in particular their contacts with family and peers. The theoretical part of the article contextualizes the problem within discussions of behavioural disorders, adolescent depression, eating disorders, the obsessive-compulsive syndrome and schizophrenia. The other part contains results of the author’s research of the social functioning of adolescent patients of the Mental Health Centre for Children and Adolescents in Cracow.
