The number of road traffic accidents in the world has been increasing. This is mainly related to the constant increase in road traffic. The aim of this article is to examine the causes of road accidents in Poland in terms of road traffic safety. For this purpose, road incidents that occurred in Poland were analysed. In order to verify the presented statistical data on the state of safety in Poland, a survey was carried out to indicate the factors that most often cause traffic accidents. Possibilities for increasing the efficiency of traffic safety and an evaluation of the level of safety in vehicles were also part of the survey. The results showed that the state of RS, in the opinion of the respondents, is poor. The respondents correctly indicated the most frequent causes of road accidents, which confirms their knowledge in the field of road safety. The survey also showed that the activities of the police nd programmes for increasing safety need improvement. According to the respondents, the actions that should be taken to improve safety are, first of all, the improvement of the technical condition of roads and the modernisation of road infrastructure. In addition, the survey showed that most men are car drivers, while women primarily travel on foot; the results also showed that the knowledge of RS is better among women.

Every year, a lot of people lose their lives and health on Polish roads, which at best ends up damaging the car. Resultantly, the high rate of accidents prompted this study in conjunction with the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piła to analyse road traffic safety in the Piła poviat. To this end, road events occurring in Poland and in the Piła poviat were analysed. In addition, the most common types of road incidents were identified alongside the main reasons for their occurrence. By analysing traffic incidents, a map of the most dangerous streets in Piła was created. A survey was conducted to verify the statistical data presented on the state of safety in the Piła poviat. The survey on road safety in the Piła poviat was created in cooperation with the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piła and was conducted among the residents of the Piła poviat. Inhabitants of the Piła poviat feel safe on the roads along the roads of their poviat.

The article will present the application and use of the Piła City Card (PCC) which is utilized as a ticket in public transport in Piła (MZK). In the next stage of research, other possibilities of its use will be presented. The aim of the study was to analyse the existing system of how the PCC works and to get to know the public opinion on the subject of its functioning and how to further expand its use. The research was carried out in the city of Piła, using a questionnaire consisting of 12 single-choice closed and 2 open questions. The residents of the City of Piła were satisfied with the services provided by MZK and the introduction of an electronic ticket encoded on the PCC. The functioning of this card makes travelling much easier. The respondents also gave many interesting suggestions regarding other applications of the PCC than just in communication. Some of the proposals, after consultations with the city authorities and MZK, are currently being implemented.

W artykule przedstawiono wykorzystanie Pilskiej Karty Miejskiej (PKM), która służy jako bilet w komunikacji miejskiej w Pile (MZK). W kolejnym etapie badań zostaną zaprezentowane inne możliwości jego wykorzystania. Celem pracy była analiza istniejącego systemu PKM oraz poznanie opinii publicznej na temat jego funkcjonowania i możliwości szerszego wykorzystania. Badania przeprowadzono na terenie miasta Piła za pomocą kwestionariusza składającego się z 12 pytań zamkniętych jednokrotnego wyboru i 2 pytań otwartych. Mieszkańcy Piły byli zadowoleni z usług świadczonych przez MZK oraz wprowadzenia biletu elektronicznego zakodowanego w PKM. Funkcjonowanie tej karty znacznie ułatwia podróżowanie. Respondenci przekazali również wiele ciekawych sugestii dotyczących innych zastosowań PKM niż tylko w komunikacji. Część propozycji, po konsultacjach z władzami miasta i MZK, jest obecnie wdrażana.

Safety risk management in shipping projects is an extremely important aspect aimed at ensuring the success of the project and the safety of all participants in the maritime transportation process. This paper presents an approach to assessing safety risks that considers multiple factors including equipment condition, external circumstances, and human factors. The risk assessment utilizes the probability of accidents and their consequences, as well as the weighting factors of each factor. The results of the assessment are interpreted using a scale that defines the hazard level. The proposed methodology can effectively identify, analyse and manage safety risks, which can contribute to the success and safety of shipping projects. The study also discusses the importance of dividing the crew into functional groups based on the operations performed, which helps to better identify the safety risk for each group. Safety risk assessment is conducted for each operation individually as well as for the entire project or multiple operations to provide a comprehensive safety assessment. The results of the study have shown the feasibility of the proposed method for assessing the safety risks of shipping projects and its suitability to the initial data “safety” taking into account its separate sides, features, as well as the constituent aspects of the concept, systematization of the ship's safety structure in order to develop solutions to improve integral safety and optimize decision-making in emergency situations. Achievement of the general purpose of shipping safety thus means realization of ways of reduction of influence of the human factor on the number of accidents, and an estimation of the degree of influence of a set of factors on a ship during operation.
