The article takes up some aspects of historiosophic attitudes of some West German writers in the 50's. The research material are mostly non-literary utterances of the authors - their opinions and so on. As a result of research work the author showed that the central phenomenon influencing historiosophic attitudes of writers of those times was the suggestion of transferring attitudes towards the society of the Third Reich to the post war years. The authors clearly referred to the principle of “double negation” shown in the rejection of Nazi ideology and in opposition attitudes and preferring as “the third road” an attempt to take “the middle position”. This attitude being a (belated) simulation of the picture of “Germany of moderation and humanism” had an important influence on the attitude of writers towards history: one can see a distinct attempt to “avoid all costs” of taking up and explaining historical phenomena.

On the basis of the practical attempt at didactization it was found that work with short narrative prose forms, starting from specific elements of communicative process, may stimulate both the simpler activities and the more complex communicative operations and linguistic reactions going in their structure and content beyond the text. Attention was drawn to the role of authenticity of communicative situations initiated by the text - especially with reference to identification of the intentional aspect of the text.

In the article, an attempt has been made to analyze the systems of control of social communication based on the history of censorship in Germany. Apart from the historical context, reference has been made to the relationship of systems of censorship to modernization processes. In addition, the crucial role of legal awareness in society has been indicated. Within the scope of the present analysis, important methodological issues concerning research on forms, manifestations and effects of censorship related to the XXth century German literature have been considered.
