Agriculture as a sector that providing products for immediate consumption and sourcing food processing industry is a primary link in the food distribution chain. Taking into account the specifics of agricultural sector, meeting the demand for basic food products entails many threats connected also with production and logistics processes. They are reflected in the huge number of accidents and many occupational diseases. Conducted surveys shows that more than 20 thousand of people are affected by accidents annually in agricultural sector, therein about 100 with fatal outcome. It have visible result in the economic and social costs both: at the farm level and the entire national economy.

Rolnictwo jako sektor , który dostarcza produkty do bezpośredniego spożycia i zaopatrzenia przemysłu spożywczego , jest podstawowym ogniwem w łańcuchu dystrybucji żywności . Biorąc pod uwagę specyfikę sektora rolnego , zaspokojenie zapotrzebowania na podstawowe produkty żywnościowe , wiąże się z wieloma zagrożeniami w środowisku pracy, wynikającymi zarówno z procesów produkcyjnych jak i logistycznych . Znajduje to odzwierciedlenie w liczbie wypadków i chorób zawodowych . Przeprowadzone badania wskazują m.in. , iż każdego roku ponad 20 tysięcy ludzi ulega wypadkom w sektorze rolnym , w tym około 100 ze skutkiem śmiertelnym . To niekorzystne zjawisko generuje Koszty ekonomiczne i społeczne , zarówno na poziomie gospodarstwa (w skali mikro) jak i całej gospodarki narodowej (w skali makro).

SAR (Search and Rescue) operation is a complex process, often carried out in the absence of resources and time. Every single minute matters, as it puts the lost person in more danger. Therefore, it is really crucial to plan and coordinate SAR operation effectively. Because the search area is often very extensive, any leads about where to look first are invaluable. This can be achieved by modelling lost person’s behaviour based on the data from past operations. Generated results present probabilities of finding a subject in different segments of the search area, which might benefit the planning and the execution phases of the operation. The authors evaluate one of the commonly used modelling methods and propose several ways to improve it, together with some preliminary evaluation results and an already implemented system, which incorporates the described methodology.

This article applies to the issue of obtaining milk from dairy cows. This paper presents the latest trends in the automation of milking cows and the current status of this process in the Polish dairy farms on the background of world leaders. Presented robotic milking operation principle and the conditions necessary for its functioning. Also pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of full automation in obtaining milk.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie i ocena rozwiązań w zakresie gospodarowania zapasami w przedsiębiorstwach przetwórstwa mięsa, mleka, owoców i warzyw oraz zbóż w Polsce. Badane firmy sklasyfikowano jako mikro (0-9 pracowników), małe (10-49 pracowników), średnie (50- 249 pracowników) oraz duże (powyżej 250 pracowników). Do prezentacji i oceny wybranych rozwiązań organizacyjno-technicznych w zakresie sterowania zapasami wykorzystano wskaźniki gradacyjne. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono w zależności od wielkości i branży przedsiębiorstw zróżnicowanie w zakresie rozwiązań dotyczących ewidencji zapasów oraz metod ustalania struktury zapasów a także w zakresie wystarczalności i funkcjonalności bazy magazynowej.

This article presents solutions for the management of stocks in companies processing meat, milk, cereals, fruit and vegetables in Poland. Researched companies were classified as micro (0-9 employees), small (10-49 employees), medium (50-249 employees) and large (over 250 employees). The analysis shows that methods of the stock management are connected with size of agribusiness company. The bigger scale of agribusiness company leads to better register of stocks. Moreover large enterprises establish the level and the structure of stocks basing on analysis of the demand and the level of the customer service. What's more large agribusiness companies have more functionality warehouse than small and medium firms.

Celem badań było wykazanie zależności między ukształtowaniem rozłogu w gospodarstwie rolnym a kosztami transportu wyrażonych w wartości zużytego paliwa w przeliczeniu na jeden hektar użytków rolnych. Wyniki badań przedstawiono w podziale na dwa czynniki: liczbę działek w gospodarstwie i przeciętną odległość działek od ośrodka gospodarstwa. W celu potwierdzenia zauważonych zależności zbudowano model ekonometryczny i przeprowadzono test istotności badanych czynni-ków w zakresie ich wpływu na koszty paliw.

The aim of the study was to show the relations between the shape of farm expanse and transport costs expressed in the fuel cost per one hectare. The results were presented in terms of two factors: the number of parcels in the farm and the average distance from the farm center of the farm parcels. In order to confirm observed relations the econometric model have been estimated and the statistical significance of selected factors and their impact on fuel costs have been recognized.

The aim of the paper is to present the possibilities of utilizing spatial (geographical) information in the criminal analysis and to introduce the LINK software, which is able to perform such analyses. LINK is a decision-support system dedicated for operational and investigational activities of homeland security services. The paper briefly discusses issues of criminal analysis in the Polish reality and focuses on crime mapping and spatial analyses. It also lists available analysis methods and software tools together with their pros and con. The description of LINK system functionality constitutes the main part of the paper. It covers the tasks of data acquisition, processing, analysis and visualization. In addition to that the paper also includes a description of the integration possibilities of LINK and ESRI’s ArcGIS application stack and performing complex geospatial analyses.
