Drilus rittneri sp. nov. is described from Israel and compared with its congeners from the Levant: Drilus adustus (Chevrolat, 1854), D. akbesianus (Fairmaire, 1895), D. bicolor Schaufuss, 1867, D. nemethi Kundrata, Kobieluszova & Bocak, 2014, D. rectus Schaufuss, 1867, and D. rufipes (Baudi di Selve, 1871). Data on the intraspecific variability and new distributional records for D. bicolor, D. rectus and D. rufipes are given. Drilus bicolor is recorded from Israel for the first time. An updated key to males of Drilus of the Levant is provided.

Euanoma Reitter, 1889 is the most species-rich genus within the small elateroid family Omalisidae. Here, we redescribe the genus and describe and figure Euanoma plonskii sp. nov., E. trabzonensis sp. nov., E. vavrai sp. nov., and E. wittmeri sp. nov. from Turkey. Euanoma obscura (Pic, 1901) is reported for the first time from Greece (Lesbos, Samos). Euanoma graeca (Pic, 1901b) is transferred to Cimbrion Kazantsev, 2010 as C. graecum (Pic, 1901b) and compared with C. nigricorne (Reitter, 1881). Sixteen described species of Euanoma are known from the Ionian Islands, the Peloponnese, the Aegean Islands, Asia Minor, and the Caucasus. For each species we provide synonyms, information on type material, type locality, diagnosis, distribution, and bibliography. The species distribution map as well as an identification key for the males of all Euanoma species is provided.

Ripiphoridae phylogeny inferred from rRNA and mtDNA markers and 23 taxa from four subfamilies is presented. Despite much denser sampling than previous studies and completeness of the assembled dataset, the phylogenetic signal from molecular markers remains ambiguous. The dataset does not support monophyly of Ripiphoridae and suggests the Ripiphoridae + Mordellidae clade with ripiphorid lineages forming gradual splits basally to Mordellidae. Previous hypotheses on relationships of Meloidae and Ripiphoridae and a single origin of developmental modifications are refuted. The ripiphorid subfamilies are regularly recovered and we found Pelecotominae and Ptilophorinae among deep splits. Ripidiinae, despite morphological divergence, are regularly found within the ripiphorid + mordellid clade in a sister relationships to Ripiphorinae + Mordellidae. Molecular phylogeny of Ptilophorus Dejean supports a hypothesis about their Gondwanan origin and subsequent dispersal to the Northern hemisphere. The clade Macrosiagon Hentz + Metoecus Dejean is well defined and majority consensus suggests a terminal position of Metoecus within Macrosiagon and the inferred subclades agree with the morphology-based species-groups. Ripiphorus caboverdianus Batelka & Straka, 2011 is lowered to a subspecies of R. arabiafelix Batelka, 2009.
