The article entitled “Political, social and economic changes in a national dimension” features the crucial year of 1989 for Poland as a year of events that changed the course of history starting an unprecedented process of political, economic and social character. The article analyses two closely interwoven factors that decided on the shape and course of political transformation in Poland taking place up till now. They involve a political sphere and an economic-social one. The authors show complex and multi-sided processes taking place in our country at the turn of the 90s last century and evaluate the effectiveness of actions taken at that time translated into political-economic and social effects in contemporary Poland.
