The paper aims on the one hand at presenting a great variety of issues taken up by archaeologists, mostly in recent years, whose areas of interest focus on prehistoric religion, and on the other hand it points out some weak points of proposed interpretations. It presents ways of posting questions and answering them as well as application of historical and ethnographical analogies. Studies on prehistoric religions are furthermore presented according to three discrete groups varying in a degree of interests in religion and contexts of analysed problems.

A scale of recently made rescue excavations enabled large areas to be uncovered and thus developed our understanding of the functional and spatial organization of settlements, previously studied to a small degree compared to cemeteries. Among recently excavated sites, including the discussed settlement, fenced structures have prompted great interest owing to their unique spatial organization. The focus of this paper is on the interpretation of the site when compared with other settlements containing similar spatial structures discovered in SW Poland.

The paper aims at presentation of results of salvage excavations carried out at a cremation urnfield at Wroclaw zerniki (site no. 4). Apart from introduction, geomorphological properties of the area, state of preservation and grave forms, the text includes results of studies on discovered artefacts. They were mostly made of ceramics, however some items made of bronze, iron and lithic were analysed as well. On the basis of morphologic and stylistic properties of reconstructed vessels, it was concluded that the urnfield, despite its small size, had been used for several centuries i.e. from the Hallstatt A2 to C periods. However, obtained data do not allow to establish if the site was used continuously. The text contains closing remarks on the site against the background of other known sites of similar chronology.

The article presents the results of research conducted in 2011 on the settlement of late Bronze Age and early Iron Age in Grabowiec in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Subsequently group of features were presented according to their probable function, including exceptionally numerous series of wells and relics of fencings and then results of the analysis of artifacts is presented, discovered both in the cultural layer and earth-sheltered features fills. A separate part of the article are the issues of relative and absolute chronology as well as spatial organisation of the settlement. Detailed analyses of archaeological sources allowed to distinguish at least two phases of the settlement use.
