A method to simulate the diffuse indirect reflection used in most known applications is called radiosity. However radiosity methods sometimes do not give good results when all types of light-matter interaction (scattering, reflecting and refracting) take place at the same time. In the last decade many methods based on the ray-tracing were proposed, to eliminate these errors. The most powerful ones (irradiance caching, path tracing) represent two different approaches: deterministic and stochastic. This paper compares these two methods. The results are analyzed for the time cost and errors produced. We also try to show the way of eliminating these errors with the new semi-stochastic semi-deterministic method.
