Tekst dotyczy konsekwencji aksjomatu estetyki o pełnej autonomii sztuki i całkowitej wolności artysty. Idea, aby jakaś część świata ludzkiego była pozbawiona związku z etyką jest niebezpieczna, gdyż odmawia etyce miejsca wśród potrzeb duchowych, utożsamia ją z przymusem, a wolność - z jej brakiem. Idea ta jest też wewnętrznie sprzeczna. Wolność artysty jest bytem biurokratycznym i kończy się na progu muzeum. Problemu twórczości nie można rozważać bez uwzględnienia wątków pozaestetycznych, w tym - wrażliwości moralnej, która warunkuje każdą odpowiedzialną postawę, a więc także postawę twórczą. Absurdalność wielu współczesnych praktyk artystycznych jest najbardziej widocznym skutkiem usytuowania sztuki ‘poza dobrem i złem’. Zatem obecnie pierwszorzędną kwestią nie jest drążenie wszechstronnie już znanych aporii sztuki, ale podjęcie dyskusji nad relacją pomiędzy ‘człowiekiem’ a ‘artystą’.

The text refers to the consequence of the axiom of aesthetics, e.g. full autonomy of art and uninhibited freedom of an artist. The idea that there is no relationship between some part of human world and ethics is dangerous, because it denies ethics its place among spiritual needs and identifies it with constraint. Moreover, this idea is internally contradictory, too. Artist’s freedom has bureaucratic character and ends on the threshold of museum. One cannot consider the problem of creation regardless of non-aesthetic plots, including - moral sensibilities, that conditions every responsible attitude, as well as a creative attitude. Location of art “beyond good and evil” is most visible result of absurdity of many present artistic practices. So nowadays the main matter is not consideration of well-known aporias of art in every respect, but discussion over the account among “man” and “artist”.

The text concerns the evolution of musical practice in the last decades of the twentieth century. The starting point is the observation of excess, which is the result of terror "anew". The requirements of the art world, making the music victim of fashion, imposed the creators and auditors against the inability to reconcile the realm of facts and the realm of interpretation. Facts includes the increasing monotony of artistic trends and the obsessive maintenance of the categorical prohibition of establishing a tradition. In the sphere of interpretation those facts were absent. Interpretation conjures reality as - despite experienced monotony - (long absent) and highlighting the newness and showing anew ways. As Józef Czapski I writes about a new dogmatism then. This concept gives the state jurisdiction not only the visual arts. It is characteristic of the alienation of art - when it loses its traditional function, not gaining a comparatively new material. Alienation of art, in particular the "breaking out" of the anthropological contexts (Ortega), makes the phenomenon of the crisis becomes a permanent condition. In this condition may lead to a triumphant climax of iconolatry, where the "icon" - a sign - it becomes everything that can be considered as marked by the Idea of Beauty. In this orientation primed category works of art - is a precondition parasacral item, regardless of the its kind. At the expense of this new iconolatry and related forms of education is a systematic decrease in the number of recipients. This phenomenon is institutionally sanctioned by the recognition of "high culture" as the phenomenon of "niche".
