The expectations concerning the Internet have been steadily growing for a few years. A lot of spheres of social life have come into existence and are developing spontaneously on line. A new cultural relation between education and the extended social space of the Internet has become more significant for the development of the information society. A number of education initiatives connected with WBT (Web-based trainings) have set standards, not so much in the field of education methods and ways of acquiring knowledge as in the scope of organization of educational processes. A lot of education institutions have already felt euphoria connected with the WBT application and a time for reflection has come now. The educational perspective of the extended social space of the Internet will be presented in this reflective mode. The outcome of these studies are educational applications of Information Technology only in the conditions of new educational culture which is the result of the incorporation of IT into the existing culture in the framework of so-called blended learning. An important context, also analysed in these considerations, of educational applications of the Internet is the subjectivity of a learner, which cannot be pushed into the background by technological objectivity (IT).
