The artistic style of master Mikołaj was fully-developed and homogenous, despite quite a large repertoire of applied forms. His chalices followed the 15th century convention of goldsmithery from Wielkopolska (i.e. Greater Poland Province), however they also contain elements of Pomeranian provenance. Motifs consistently used and elaborated by his workshop include: richly decorated openwork nodes, openwork buttons, little baskets crowned by thick lace and engravings (based partially on the prints of Marcin Schongauer and master E.S.) The exceptional position of Auerhan's works against the background of the whole goldsmithery in Poland in late Gothic lies in his relatively many preserved works all of which are quoted in the archives.
