Niecka podhalańska jest regionem geologicznym położonym na południu Polski. Wypełniona jest Wypełniona jest paleogeńskimi osadami fliszowymi. Charakterystycznym litologicznym składnikiem tego fliszu jest uwęglony materiał roślinny (warstwy witrynu i rozproszony materiał), którego stopień uwęglenia jest typowy dla węgla kamiennego. Jego regionalna zmienność wykazuje związek z blokową tektoniką osadów fliszowych.

Podhale Basin is a geological region in Southern Poland. It is filled up with flysh sedminets of Paleogene. Typical lithological component of flysh is coaly floral matter (focuses of vitrynite and dispersed organic matter), its rank of the matter is typical for bituminous coal. Its regional variability is connected with faulting tectonics of flysh sediments.

As a K-strategist and comparatively sedentary species, the lesser horseshoe bat Rhinolophus hipposideros is considered sensitive to changes in habitat quality. Knowledge of the species' dietary requirements and use of foraging habitats is thus considered an essential prerequisite to manage its habitats adequately. Based on four large annual samples of faecal pellets from three different nursery colonies, including two consecutive years of sampling from one colony, we studied the diet of Central German populations of R. hipposideros. Consistent with findings of similar studies carried out in other parts of the distribution range of R. hipposideros, in our study, Diptera, Lepidoptera, and Neuroptera represented the most important groups of prey for the studied colonies. However, Hemiptera made a comparatively larger contribution in our study than in others, and so did Hymenoptera in one of the colonies. We found seasonal compositional variation in all four annual samples, as well as compositional variation between samples from different colonies, but not between the two annual samples obtained in consecutive years from the same colony. Differences between colonies appeared at least to some extent to reflect differences in availability of foraging habitats. Our results are thus in agreement with the assumption of R. hipposideros being a largely opportunistic, generalist forager. Our findings are also consistent with a known preference by R. hipposideros of woodland as main foraging habitat, as previously established by other studies carried out in the northern part of the distribution range. However, the relative importance of Hemiptera, and in particular of Psyllidae, at certain times during the foraging season, suggests that the Central German colonies of R. hipposideros might have utilized commercial orchards and private fruit gardens for foraging during seasonal peaks in abundance of pest species of fruit trees. The implied ability of R. hipposideros to respond to seasonal abundance peaks of particular groups of prey in a range of habitats suggests that structural diversity might be key in maintaining viable populations of this species. The potential importance of orchards and fruit gardens in regions where such habitats are prevalent is likely to have relevant management implications.

W pracy podano własności optyczne psudowitrynitu oraz sugestie dotyczące jego genezy, opierając się na danych na danych literaturowych. Szczegółowo scharakteryzowano pseudohuminit występujący w złożach miękkiego węgla brunatnego "Szczerców" i "Bełchatów". Przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą pseudowitrynitu z Zagłębia Gunnedah (Australia) z pseudohuminitem z węgla brunatnego z Polski, w wyniku której potwierdzono tezę o odmiennych zespołach roślinności w odniesieniu do podstawowej masy torfu i silnym wpływie selektywnego utleniania na jej żelifikację.

Optical features of pseudovitrinite and genetic suggestion based on published data are given. detailed characteristics of pseudohuminite from the soft brown coal "Szczerców" and "Bełchatów" are presented. Comparison between pseudovitrinite from Gunnedah Basin (Australia) and psuedohuminite from brown coal (Poland) confirmed the thesis about different peat-forming plant communities. The strong influence of selective oxidation on their gelification is also revealed.

This paper deals with infinite horizon optimal control problems, which are formulated in weighted Sobolev spaces ... [wzór] and weighted Lp-spaces ... [wzór]. We ask for the consequences of the interpretation of the integral within the objective as a Lebesgue or an improper Riemann integral. In order to justify the use of both types of integrals, various applications of infinite horizon problems are presented. We provide examples showing that lower semicontinuity may fail for objectives involving Lebesgue as well as improper Riemann integrals. Further we prove a lower semicontinuity theorem for an objective with Lebesgue integral under more restrictive growth conditions on the integrand.

W niniejszym artykule zaproponowano realizację systemu wspomagajacego rozpoznawanie statycznych znaków języka migowego. Na potrzeby rozwiązania skorzystano z sensora Microsoft Kinect XBOX 360, przygotowano oprogramowanie umożliwiające translację znaków dla osób nie znających tego języka, oparte na sztucznej inteligencji, przetworzono otrzymane informacje oraz utworzono zbiór danych pozwalający na ich poprawną klasyfikację. Istotnym faktem jest również wybranie najbardziej optymalnego rozwiązania, zarówno pod względem możliwości wydajnościowych przeciętnego komputera osobistego jak i efektywności działania systemu.

In following work there is suggested a solution to recognise certain static characters from sign language. To achieve the objective, there were used tools like Microsoft Kinect and convolutional neural networks. Main problems to overcome were to collect data from Kinect sensor and prepare software based on artificial intelligence, which could process gathered material. For learning purposes around four thousand images were collected. Dataset this large was required for neural networks to work and respond properly. What is also important is to select the most optimal solution for neural networks. The influence of dropout parameter on learning process was studied too.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis ( JIA ) spans several pediatric arthropathies that involve autoimmune responses. Primary genetic risk factors for JIA have been mapped to Major Histocompatibility Complex ( MHC ) class I and class II genes. Recent genome-wide association studies using SNP arrays have shown that the nonHLA genetic component of JIA involves multiple low-risk loci, reinforcing the notion that JIA is a complex genetic trait with a strong HLA component. In this work, with the goal of detailed mapping and analysis of lin kage disequilibrium ( LD ) patterns and associations with JIA in the extended MHC (x MHC ) region, we combined SNP data from Affymetrix SNP Array 6.0 and Immunochip ( IC ) platforms with high resolution typing of 8 classical HLA genes. A cohort of about 800 affected individuals and about 500 ethnically matched controls from the Cincinnati region, as well as secondary validation cohorts of affected individuals and matched controls from Germany were used to perform the an alysis, and to assess reproducibility of the results across different platforms and p opulations. Accurate high resolution maps of linkage with classical HLA genes and association with individual HLA alleles were generated. High concordance of results obtained using Affymetrix SNP Array 6.0 and IC was observed, with an additional resolution and improved mapping of associat ions provided by the latter in some regions. Several new peaks of statistically signific ant and reproducible association with JIA outside the regions of strong LD with classical HLA genes were observed, including one peak in the class III region, and one in the telomeric end of x MHC . Conditional analysis provided further evidence that these associations appear t o be independent of classical HLA genes studied here. The results and observed association patterns ar e further discussed in the context of other recent studies on autoimmune diseases, includin g the role of HLA DRB 1 in adult Rheumatoid Arthritis.
