The clinical case of urolithiasis in a 9 year-old draft gelding is described in this article. The horse had dark- red urine for some weeks, it had neither micturition disturbances, nor colic-like pains, nor muscular apparatus failure. The presence of urolith was detected in the rectal examination. Urolith was surgically removed under general inhalation anaesthesia. A skin incision was made in a paramedian line to the left of the penis. The bladder was opened on the ventral side. The bladder and the abdominal wall were sutured with Vicryl, the skin was sutured with silk. After surgery, a combination of penicilin and streptomycin was given. Oedema of the preputium followed by the purulent discharge from the wound occurred three days after surgery, both disappearing after ten days. The cutaneous stitches were removed on the 18lh day after surgery.
