While using advertisements as linguistic aids in teaching Polish as foreign language, the teacher should consider a few issues. The teacher must equip the student in advence wth adequate lexical and grammatical knowledge, especially that linguistic centent is codedunequivocally, and linguistic functions of words, expressionsand phrases are often hidden; the teacher has to remember that advertisement does not only play with the language, but it also plays with the cultural picetures. Then, if the teacher decides to show some advertisement to foreigner students, he or she must be prepared for a series of awkward question,unexpected reactions or simply missing the message.
