Three articles describe interesting no-dig projects which took place in Australia and Oceania. The project were introduced to public during the last year's No-Dig International Conference in Brisbane, Australia from 29th October to 2nd November. The articles refer to: "Extending Sewer Asset Life and Deferring Major Capital Expenditure with the use of SulfaLock HiGel TM " -Trials have been performed to assess the eff ectiveness of Orica's specially formulated liquid magnesium hydroxide product, SulfaLock HiGel TM in inhibiting corrosion of concrete sewers and associated structures within Sydney Water's sewers. This paper details the work performed and the results obtained over a three-year evaluation period on the Sans Souci Carrier, and on 4.2km of work performed on sections of the Northern Georges River.

W artykule opisano zasadę działania nowoczesnego napędu z silni-kiem reluktancyjnym łącznikowym (SRM). Szczegółowo omówiono zalety i wady tego napędu oraz przedstawiono możliwości jego adap-tacji w maszynach stosowanych w górnictwie węglowym podziem-nym. Rozważania zakończono wnioskami dotyczącymi perspektyw zastosowania tego nowoczesnego napędu w górnictwie.

The article describes the principle of operation of a modern drive with connecting reluctance motor (SRM). The advantages and disadvan-tages of this drive are described in details. lts adaptability to machines used in underground coal mines is also presented. The considerations are ended with conclusions on perspectives of using this type of drive in mining.
