The present article is an attempt to answert the question whether it is possible to use optical correlation for analysis of a composite input scence. There are two possible approaches to traditional optical correlation setups with a thin hologram used for recognising objects in the input scence. In the first case, one input scence object out of several others is recognised. In the second case, only one object is searched for among numerous other objects in an input scene. This paper presents a suggestion on how to increase the range of traditional optical correlation systems with a thin hologram for analysis of a composite input scence.

Content available remote Surface plasmon resonance sensors - novel architecture and improvements
100%
EN
The paper deals with an optical sensor based on the phenomenon of surface plasmon resonance. It proposes a new geometry of the measurement head, which allows for measurements with both the change in the incident light angle and the change in the wavelength. The proposed sensors can also be used in a parallel and a series configuration, which increases the functionality of the setup, allows for a greater precision of measurements, and eliminates such distracting factors as temperature change. The article presents the results of a computer analysis of the sensor, as well as the analysis of its capabilities.

Głównym celem pracy było zbadanie możliwości wykonywania szklanych, niedrogich w produkcji elementów mikrooptycznych do pracy w zakresie bliskiej i średniej podczerwieni.

The aim of this work was to examine the possibility of manufacturing low-cost glass diffractive optical elements that work in near and mid-infrared. The paper focuses on the results of the fabrication of Fresnel lenses from multi-component glasses in a hot embossing process. In the experiment lead-bismuth-gallium oxide and tellurite glasses characterized by high transmittance in the range of visible light spectrum to mid-infrared were applied. A fused silica element obtained by standard ion etching was used as the mold. The presented elements were fabricated in a static process with the use of low pressure. The quality of the outcome elements was examined employing white light interferometry as well as performing focusing measurements.

The development of all-solid photonic crystal fibres for nonlinear optics is an alternative approach to air-glass solid core photonic crystal fibres. The use of soft glasses ensures a high refractive index contrast (> 0.1) and a high nonlinear coefficient of the fibres. We report on the dispersion management capabilities in all-solid photonic crystal fibres taking into account four thermally matched glasses which can be jointly processed using the stack-and-draw fibre technique. We present structures with over 450 nm broadband flat normal dispersion and ultra-flat near zero anomalous dispersion below 5 ps/nm/km over 300 nm dedicated to supercontinuum generation with 1540 nm laser sources. The development of an all-solid photonic crystal fibre made of F2 and NC21 glasses is presented. The fibre is used to demonstrate supercontinuum generation in the range of 730–870 nm (150 nm) with flatness below 5 dB.

Photonic crystal fibres (PCF) can provide the high confinement needed to enable nonlinear optical processes to be studied in silicate fibre over short lengths without the need for large pulse energies. Additionally, the capillary stacking technique for PCF fabrication lends itself to the design of multiple core fibres and this capability has triggered much work into the properties of dual core PCF. In this paper, the effect of the dual core interaction on the nonlinear wavelength conversion is studied using a femtosecond oscillator in the near IR range. Effective supercontinuum generation in the range 1300-1700 nm is achieved in the anomalous dispersion regime.
