Rejecting Christian faith and morality, Europe has been losing its cultural identity which in consequence caused the axiological vacuum being suitable ground for invasion of other religions -particularly Islam - and also for sects and various pseudoreligions, as well as for spreading the death culture. The urgent task standing before European societies nowadays is to regain their genuine identity through re-acceptance the universal Christian values. The task that European Churches (ecclesiastical institutions and the faithful) are obliged to fulfil is widely understood new evangelization.

Europa traci kulturową tożsamość wskutek odrzucenia chrześcijańskiej wiary i moralności, co w konsekwencji wytworzyło aksjologiczną próżnię, stanowiącą dogodny grunt do inwazji innych religii, zwłaszcza islamu, a także sekt i różnych pseudo-religii, jak również do szerzenia się kultury śmierci. Naglącym dzisiaj zadaniem europejskich społeczeństw jest odzyskanie swej prawdziwej tożsamości przez ponowne przyjęcie uniwersalnych wartości chrześcijańskich. Zadaniem zaś europejskich Kościołów (instytucji kościelnych i wiernych) jest szeroko rozumiana nowa ewangelizacja.

On the basis of the materials collected from 17 questionnaires made among children from primary school (grades V-VII) the author makes the following statements: 1. The state of the religiousness of children as well as the character of that religiousness depends on the home environment; 2. The religiousness of children has the qualities characteristic of the religiousness of their parents; 3. The state of religiousness in relation to the social environment is as follows: parents and children from small ’ towns take the highest position, next parents and children living in the country, then parents working on state farms and children from big cities and finally parents in big cities and children from state farms; 4. The state of the religiousness of children depends on the state of the religiousness of their parents; the more religious the parents, the more religious the children and vice versa; 5. The state of the religiousness of children is conditioned by the social type of the family.

The author takes up the problem whether the formation of new parishes inhibits the process of spontaneous secularization. He bases his analyses on an extensive empirical research carried out in the Przemys´l dioceses, both in newly erected parishes and mother parishes. The subjectmatter of his analyses is the quantitative dimension of the behavioral side of religiousness: religious practices, morality and tie with the parish. As a result of his analyses it turned out that in the newly erected parishes, in the period of their formation, the state of religiousness was raised to a higher level. The greatest dynamics of development was noted at the level of the tie with a parish, it was smaller in the sphere of religious practices and the least in the sphere of morality. It has also been noted that in towns this increase reached a considerably higher level than in villages. In particular types of rural milieus it was inversely proportional to the degree of their openness. It has also been stated that increase in the state of religiousness concerned only part of parishioners. The other part preserved stability in this respect, and the third part (less numerous) decreased the level of their religiousness. The increase in the state of religiousness then in the newly erected parishes turned out to be varied and limited. In the mother parishes in the same period the state of religiousness, globally speaking, did not undergo any considerable changes. This fact allows to conclude that increase in religiousness in the new parishes results from the process of formation of these parishes. The establishment of new parishes was inhibited, to a limited extent, by spontaneous secularization.

The postmodernistic culture rejects all objective values and established laying down structures and out lines, proposing instead the radical pluralism relating the forms of knowledge, ways of thinking and life as well as the paragon of behaviour – which in consequence caused the axiological vacuum being suitable ground for invasion of sects and various pseudoreligions, as well as for spreading the death culture. The pseudoreligions negate all fundamental truths of Christian faith and promise an easy salvation. To fight of faith it is necessary to undertake the effort of new evangelization. Among many tasks one should first of all to proclaim by all the accessible means the faith truth attacked by postmodernism and pseudoreligions and develop the small church communities. It is the task of the whole Church, the clergymen and the laity.
