The author identifies selected implicit or not fully explicit assumptions made by Noam Chomsky in his theory of language. Through a careful examination of Chomsky's work, she aims to present the solutions this linguist proposes with respect to two fundamental questions: the question of methodology and the question of the ontological status of language. After reviewing the central theses of Chomsky's theory in the first part of the paper, she turns to the question that is mentioned in the title of this paper, that is, the reservations regarding the assumptions underlying Chomsky's work.

The author continues a long philosophical discussion about the status and the function of philosophy treated as the element of culture. In the article she puts the following question: does philosophy play cultural role, in a sense that it plays a certain role in producing ideas and senses important for culture. To answer this question the author refers to some proposals which can be read from the late writings of Ludwig Wittgenstein. She finds some promising answers there about doing philosophy and about its status among different domains of human cognitive activities. She presents the main Wittgensteinian theses about philosophy treated as a description and as a therapy, pointing out their theoretical background. She especially discusses basic aspects of Wittgensteinian anti-skepticism, anti-scientism and grammar understood as metaphysics. The author argues that we can use Wittgensteinian instructions regarding the way we think of philosophy in our contemporary views.

The article provides a compact review of the early modern science views of the nature of science, scientific method and knowledge, rationality and objec- tivity with respect to masculinity and femininity. Following primarily Galileo and Bacon's work, the author is interested in pointing out the most important ideas of the historically fixed ways of how people imagined the acquisition of knowledge, presented nature, understood the role of researchers, as well as what metaphors they applied in defining knowledge. Due to the vast and di- verse material, the aim is not to sketch a complete and detailed portrait of the ideal of modern science, but to explore to what extent gender-related issues were of any significance here.

The aim of the article is to discuss the basic assumptions, theses and solutions of Donna Haraway’s book “Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene”. The author places the considerations of an American philosopher and biologist on the background of her earlier books and conceptual proposals. She analyses her suggestion of using the category of Chthulucene instead of Anthropocene, the category of sympoietic system instead of an autopoietic one, she presents her appeal for creating new forms of kinship and extensive response-ability for each other

Celem artykułu jest omówienie podstawowych założeń, tez oraz rozstrzygnięć książki Donny Haraway Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene. Autorka sytuuje rozważania amerykańskiej filozofki i biolożki na tle jej wcześniejszych książek i propozycji konceptualnych. Analizuje jej propozycję posługiwania się kategoriami chthulucenu zamiast antropocenu, systemu sympojetycznego zamiast autopojetycznego, przedstawia jej apel o tworzenie nowych form pokrewieństwa i rozbudowanej odpowiedzialności za siebie nawzajem.

This article presents methods of effective treatment of primary metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma, both causative and symptomatic, taking into account possible available treatment therapies (chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy), and includes a case report. The applied treatment allowed for satisfactory control of the disease and much higher overall survival than expected – the patient survived for 53 months from the initial diagnosis and 41 months from being diagnosed with metastatic carcinoma.
