A classical (crisp) concept is given by its extent (a set of objects) and its intent (a set of properties). In commutative fuzzy logic, the generalization comes naturally, considering fuzzy sets of objects and properties. In both cases (the first being actually a particular case of the second), the situation is perfectly symmetrical: a concept is given by a pair (A,B), where A is the largest set of objects sharing the attributes from B and B is the largest set of attributes shared by the objects from A (with the necessary nuance when fuzziness is concerned). Because of this symmetry, working with objects is the same as working with properties, so there is no need to make any choice. In this paper, we define concepts in a "non-commutative fuzzy world", where conjunction of sentences is not necessarily commutative, which leads to the following non-symmetrical situation: a concept has one extent (because, at the end of the day, concepts are meant to embrace, using certain descriptions, diverse sets of objects), but two intents, given by the two residua (implications) of the non-commutative conjunction.

Lyocell fibres have made a special impact on the worldwide textile market since their appearance. The trends in the field of textile fibres and the necessity of increasing the competitiveness of textile articles motivated an analysis of lyocell fibres’ potential for the garment sector, and especially for fashion. To this end, some different finishing experiments on lyocell woven fabrics have been conducted. The technological experiments had the primary fibrillation effect-enzymatic defibrillation-secondary fibrillation in view. For obtaining these effects, rope finishing with/without woven fabrics causticising was carried out, followed by defibrillation (biopolish treatment) before or after dyeing, using different cellulasic enzymes such as Bactosol CA (Clariant), Perizym 2000 and Perizym LYO (Textil Chemie GmbH Dr. Petry). The experiments considered the evidence of the influence of these technological stages on the surface modification that appears in finishing lyocell textile materials.

The present study aimed at assessing the frequency of HFE mutations (C282Y, H63D and S65C) in western Romanian patients with liver disease of diverse aetiologies suspected of iron overload. A total of 21 patients, all Romanian residents hospitalized with clinical suspicion of iron overload and liver disease, were assayed for C282Y, H63D and S65C mutations, serum ferritin and viral hepatitis markers. Overall, 9 out of the 21 patients (42.86%) were found to harbour mutations in the HFE gene: 4 homozygotes C282Y (19.0%), 1 compound heterozygote C282Y/H63D (4.8%), 1 single heterozygote C282Y (4.8%), 2 single heterozygotes H63D (9.5%), 1 single heterozygote S65C (4.8%), and 12 wild-type cases (57.1%). Among the subgroup of 10 patients with the most prominent signs of iron overload (hyperferritinaemia and/or hepatocyte iron score ≥ 1), without hepatocellular carcinoma, the HFE genotypes were conclusive in 5 cases (50%). They had significantly increased ferritin levels compared to wild-type cases (P = 0.029). The inclusion of iron studies during routine clinical visits, coupled with the availability of HFE genotyping for family and population studies, should facilitate the early detection of hereditary haemochromatosis in Romania.
