Celem niniejszej pracy była analiza wpływu czynników meteorologicznych (temperatury powietrza, wilgotności powietrza, miesięcznej sumy opadów oraz zachmurzenia) na miesięczne zużycie wody w miejskiej sieci wodociągowej Białegostoku. Utworzone zostały liniowe modele ekonometryczne miesięcznego zużycia wody uwzględniające, oprócz warunków meteorologicznych, również czynnik ekonomiczny – cenę za wodę i odprowadzanie ścieków na obszarze Białegostoku. Zadaniem wyznaczonych modeli matematycznych było wskazanie tendencji zużycia wody w przyszłości oraz określenie wpływu czynników egzogenicznych kształtujących proces zapotrzebowania na wodę.

The paper discusses selected factors potentially affecting a monthly water demand in the Bialystok water system. At the beginning economical factor i.e. water price was considered. Then, the correlation between monthly water demand and four environmental aspects were analysed. Finally, five linear econometric models were estimated. The first model includes only water price and describes monthly water demand from September to April. The next models involve months from May to August and include, apart from water price, variability meteorological parameters (rainfall and air temperature). The estimated functions characterise a very good compatibility between simulated and real data.

The study presents the analysis of water consumption in Bialystok in north-eastern Poland in the years 2007–2013. It has been shown in the study that demand for water during a week is varying and it fluctuates. A detailed analysis of water consumption on individual days of the week and public holidays is presented. Individual consumption per capita and daily water consumption irregularity coefficients were estimated. In the analysed period, the highest average daily water demand was recorded on Saturdays (43,129 m3 ), and the lowest on Sundays (37,712 m3 ). Moreover, the impact of economic and environmental factors on the process under study has been characterized in the study. In Bialystok, the price of water increased by 42% in the years 2007-2013, with the inflation rate in the country at 119.2% in those years. It is also presented the influence of maximum daily temperature and precipitation sum on daily water consumption on working days and Saturdays, as well as separately, on Sundays and public holidays.

The work presents the possibilities of implementing the GIS technology in assessing the tourist attractiveness of the selected municipality. In the study, a point classification method was used in the base fields 250×250 of size. The valorisation of the areas of the municipality was carried out based on considering selected elements of the natural environment such as the land form, land use, hydrographic conditions, forest areas and valuable natural areas. Based on the conducted research it has pointed out that about one quarter of the area of the municipality can be characterized by high and very high attractiveness in terms of tourism and recreation development, mainly due to the high altitude of the land form, favourable hydrographic conditions and the presence of forest areas.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie modelu decyzyjnego GIS jako narzędzia wspomagania procesu wyboru lokalizacji składowiska odpadów na przykładzie części powiatu białostockiego i miasta Białystok na prawach powiatu.

Selection of localizations for municipal landfills is one of problems in multicriteria decision making. The usage of GIS allows to apply criteria from the legal directives and to conduct spatial assessment in account of the area usability for waste deposition. As a result of using GIS we obtain data helpful in finding terrain predisposed for waste deposition and to report the areas where landfills localization should definitely forbidden. GIS is a system for capturing, storing, managing, processing and displaying the data spatially referenced to the surface of the Earth. The paper presents an example of using GIS as a tool for selecting areas for municipal landfills sites on the example of the part of białostocki district.
