What is real for a person as a member of a cultural society is a product of both social reality and the way of organizing his experience of interacting with the material world. Since a significant part of social reality is conceptualized in metaphorical terms, and since our understanding of the material world is partly metaphorical, the metaphor plays a very significant role in establishing what is real for us. Currently, culture is represented by qualitatively new metaphors. Having examined some of them, a picture of the thinking of a modern person and its main directions will open up for us. An analysis of the content of metaphors, in turn, will reveal the analogies and associations on which society and its views are based. This is not just the use of concepts familiar to our time, these are the ideas and areas of close attention of science and culture that dominate in modern society.
