The subject of the author’s discussion is to present the Snoezelen as a method supporting comprehensive human development, which can be used in the therapy and prevention of mental health. The starting point for considerations is the currently observed upward trend in the scope of the occurrence of difficulties in mental functioning, especially in Poland, affecting an ever wider group of people. The use of therapeutic support dedicated to individual patients was presented. The search for new solutions in the field of optimization of psychological and therapeutic help was considered, due to the growing need to mobilize interdisciplinary therapeutic activities. The Snoezelen method was indicated as a promising form of therapeutic support with high international effectiveness in various recipients. The author points out the need to include the Snoezelen among the fundamental methods of therapy, at the same time, reflecting the need to expand research in this area.

The subject of the authors considerations is to present the triangulation as a strategy that can be used in a pedagogical research. The starting point for discussion is the set of definition concerning triangulation, includes the possibilities and opportunities for using it in a pedagogical research. The authors touch upon key areas for the researcher’s decision of use triangulation strategy in conducted research. The elements of methodology of pedagogical research are indicated as important, including the rules of conducting quantitative and qualitative research. The authors refer also to general figure of the researcher, paying attention to psychological conditions that may support or hinder use of application model correctly. The authors describe sides for and against using the triangulation strategy in pedagogical research. They leave the researcher open-minded for decision making and with deeply reflection of owned resources.

Przedmiotem rozważań autorek jest zaprezentowanie strategii triangulacji, możliwej do zastosowania w badaniach pedagogicznych. Punktem wyjścia do dyskusji są ujęcia definicyjne triangulacji wraz z odniesieniem do możliwości oraz ograniczeń ich zastosowania w badaniach pedagogicznych. Autorki poruszają obszary kluczowe dla decyzji badacza co do zastosowania strategii triangulacji w prowadzonych badaniach. Wskazują na istotne elementy dotyczące znajomości metodologii badań pedagogicznych, w tym zasad prowadzenia badań ilościowych i jakościowych. Odnoszą się także do samej sylwetki badacza, zwracają uwagę na elementy własnych uwarunkowań psychologicznych, mogących wspierać bądź utrudniać prawidłowe zastosowanie modelu triangulacyjnego. Autorki zarysowują szczegółowo strony za i przeciw zastosowaniu strategii triangulacji w badaniach pedagogicznych i pozostawiają badaczowi otwarte pole decyzyjne, jak też skłaniają do refleksji nad pogłębioną oceną zasobów własnych.

The aim of the study was an evaluating the frequency for adapting different strategies within the group of surgeons to cope up with stress and determining the differentiation on their usage depending on the type of the hospital unit and social-demographic variables.Material and methods. The samples were 40 surgeons from hospitals. Following research methods were applied: 1. Latack Coping Scale was used to investigate the strategies of coping with stress; 2. Personal questionnaire was used to obtain general social-demographic data about subjects.Results. The Latack scale is a reliable tool for testing work related stress coping strategies within a group of surgeons. Active strategies are more common than avoiding strategies. Surgeons mostly use Direct action and Positive thinking strategy in coping with stress at work. In turn, Alcohol use strategy is rarely use by subjects to solve difficult professional situations. The lack of significant differences in frequency of usage of particular strategies in correlation with the hospital type was observed. There is positive correlation which is statistically significant between analyzed social-demographic variables and usage of Avoidance/Resignation strategy within examined surgeons. The more experienced, older people are, the more likely it is that they will use this strategy in stressful situations.Conclusions. Surgeons usually use adaptive strategies in coping with stress at work.
