Współczesne przedsiębiorstwa funkcjonują w warunkach bardzo silnej konkurencji i szybko dokonujących się, a przy tym często nieprzewidywalnych, zmian w otoczeniu. Muszą więc dysponować odpowiednim instrumentarium, które pozwoliłoby prawnie zarządzać. Potrzeba ta sprzyja z kolei rozwojowi różnorodnych koncepcji, metod czy technik organizacji i zarządzania. Problemem staje się pełna znajomość tych narzędzi, odpowiedni ich dobór, przygotowanie do wprowadzenia do praktyki, sprawne wdrożenie wykorzystywanie. Trudność z doborem będących w dyspozycji koncepcji czy metod wynika z faktu, iż są one wykorzystywane w różnych obszarach funkcjonowania przesiębiorstwa. Contemporary enterprises operate in very strong competitive conditions and in rapidly taking place unpredictable changes in the nvironment. And therefore they need the appropriate instrumentation which would enable efficient management. The need in turn encourages the development of various concepts, methods or techniques of organization and management. The problem is complete knowledge of these tools, their proper selection, preparation for practice, effective implementation and exploitation. The difficulty with the selection of the available concepts or methods derives from the fact that they are used in different business areas of the enterprise. Especially, a broad set of methods we have available for production management and logistics. Therefore, these problems are discussed iv in the article.

Znaczenie podjętej problematyki wynika z faktu, że każda organizacja, dążąc do zbudowania silnej pozycji konkurencyjnej na rynku, musi podejmować aktywną działalność innowacyjną, musi być więc kreatywna. Spełnienie tych wymogów wymaga z kolei posiadania odpowiednich zasobów informacyjnych oraz określonej wiedzy. Znaczenia nabierają specyficzne zasoby organizacji – zasoby niematerialne. Złożoność podjętej tematyki zilustrowano przedstawieniem wyników badań przeprowadzonych w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych.

In the article a subject matter of using of the concept the knowledge management was taken in innovative processes. Meaning of taken issues results from the fact, that every organization aspiring for building the strong competitive position on the market must undertake the active innovative activity. Therefore it must be creative. Meeting these requirements requires having information adequate resources and the determined knowledge next. Peculiar resources of organization are acquiring significance, immaterial recources. The complexity of the taken subject matter was illustrated with show of conducted findings at industrial enterprises.

Purpose: of the article is to present selected problems of innovation management. Indication of the growing interdisciplinary and the complexity of that issue and requirement of having an extensive knowledge from the scope of the management. The other purpose is a synthetic presentation of differences in approach to managing innovations. The additional purpose is to present benefits which are the effect of efficient managing innovations. They are described based on examining processes of preparing the production. The topicality of the subject matter results from the fact that it is projecting to a considerable degree onto the competitiveness of businesses. However the large variability is forcing surroundings to seek organizational new solutions. Design/methodology/approach: For the need of achieving presented purposes, studies on literature concerning managing innovations were undertaken. Special attention was paid to development processes of new releases. At the same time in chosen manufacturing companies they conducted pilot researches (interviews, conversations with the technical divisions’ management staff). Those researches enabled to recognize approaches toward the discussed subject matter as well as to find out solutions applied in processes of preparing the production and effects obtained from this title. Findings: Studies on literature are showing that there is a number of innovation management models as well as of managing development processes of new releases. It is explicitly hard to show better solutions and to recommend them for individual enterprises. All of them have the determined merits and demerits. They are reweighing demand-induced models. A complexity of suggested solutions grows. Examined enterprises apply own models embracing outside organizations, stakeholders and consumers more and more often. At the same moment they require a modern organization. Research limitations/implications: The preliminary findings introduced in the general form requires systematizing and deepening. Further researches are necessary, particularly in the development processes of new releases. Practical implications: Both theoretical as well as practical arrangements concerning managing innovations and obtained effects are emphasizing meaning of this subject matter for the structure of the strong competitive position. Therefore building elastic models enabling the efficient management is needed. Originality/value: The main value of this article is to show issues of managing innovations as the matter requiring parallel apply of modern tools assisting change management, knowledge management, project management etc.

W artykule przedstawiono problemy związane z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych metod zarządzania produkcji. Różnorodność istniejących i pojawiających się nowych metod nasuwa pytanie, na ile metody te są przydatne, gdy wdrażane są oddzielnie, czy też powinny być stosowane łącznie, jakie z tego tytułu firma odnosi korzyści. Podjęto próbę przeanalizowania tego problemu na przykładzie przedsiębiorstw branży motoryzacyjnej. Umiejętny dobór i wdrożenie poszczególnych metod powinno przyczynić się do uzyskania określonych korzyści, a w konsekwencji poprawy pozycji konkurencyjnej.

Purpose: of this paper is to show the complexity of issues related to modern management of production systems. Furthermore, it presents in a coherent form principles and the nature of the so-called World Class Manufacturing model. While presenting the model a wide variety of problems to be solved has also been identified in order to achieve the expected results, which allow organizations to build a strong competitive position in the market. This is a timely issue due to the fact that the model gives a possibility to improve production management systems. Thereby, reliability and quality of production process and its flexibility is improved. This, in turn, greatly affects the competitiveness of businesses. It should be also emphasized that variability in the environment in which organizations operate forces them to continuous search for new organizational solutions and implementation of modern management-supporting tools. Design/methodology/approach: In order to achieve the aforementioned objectives literature studies on modern concepts of management were undertaken. Particular attention was paid to the production area. As a follow-up to literature studies a research was carried out in a number of companies that implemented some elements of the WCM model. As a results it was possible to get to know applied solutions, identified problems, achieved results, etc. Findings: As a result of literature studies one can come to a conclusion that there are many different methods and techniques supporting management processes. The study shows that managers use these tools extensively. The number of management-supporting tools is increasing. There is a growing awareness of employees that any kind of change is necessary Practical implications: The issue presented here is of great importance for the production practice. Ignoring rapid changes in the business environment and the need to adapt to them can weaken the competitive position in the market. What it all comes down to is that implementation of modern management models is necessary. Originality/value: A major advantage of this paper is to show the complexity of production system management. Different pillars of the World Class Manufacturing model show the diversity of issues to be tackled, diversity of models, tools and techniques.

Z badań w firmach samochodowych wynika, że głównymi czynnikami kształtującymi zakup samochodów są: czas, termin i niezawodność oraz elastyczność dostaw, itp. Wskazuje się także, że poziom obsługi logistycznej jest podstawowym czynnikiem wpływającym na zakup. Odnosi się to w dużej mierze również do zakupu samochodów. Niski poziom obsługi prowadzi bowiem do rezygnacji z usług świadczonych przez daną firmę.

The article discusses the issues related to the process of customer orders realization. Actions taken in this respect are presented on the example of car purchases. The basis for writing the article were literature sources and research on the organization of these processes in the automotive industry. According to the information received from car companies, car manufacturers and car sellers, the main factors influencing the purchase of complex products include: delivery time, on-time delivery, delivery reliability, delivery flexibility, frequency of deliveries, etc. It is also pointed out that the level of logistic service is a basic factor influencing the purchase of goods. This applies to a large extent to the purchase of cars. Low level of service often leads to abandonment of purchase or services provided by a given company.

Właściwy dobór i organizacja sił i środków zaangażowanych przy przewozach ładunków ponadnormatywnych w portach morskich jest głównym przedmiotem analizy w przedstawionym artykule. Scharakteryzowano zagadnienia związane z problemami, które towarzyszą przewoźnikom podczas transportu i przygotowania takich ładunków, akty prawne regulujące ten rodzaj przewozów oraz sposoby zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa w trakcie przewozu ładunków ponadgabarytowych.

The article discussed the issues concerning safety oversized cargo transport in the ports, which are among the most complex activities performed by enterprises forwarding and transport. The article compares the possibility of using different modes of transport for the transport of oversize cargo. Presented solutions logistically safe and proven. Proper selection and organization of forces and resources involved with the transport of oversize cargo at seaports is the main focus of the analysis presented in the article. Characterized issues related to the problems that accompany the carriers during transport and the preparation of such charges, legal acts regulating this type of transport and ways to safety during oversized transport.

Zasadniczym celem prowadzonych badań było określenie jakości życia, na który wpływ mają dostęp do mediów, poziom bezpieczeństwa, transportów pasażerskiego i dostawczego, ocena problemów dotyczących gospodarki komunalnej i ochrony zdrowia oraz rozrywki i edukacji. Elementem podsumowującym prowadzone badania była ocena administracji publicznej. W badaniach posłużono się metodą ankietową.

The article presents an essential issue of the urban logistics which is assessment of the logistic system of a city. Results comprise preliminary test data obtained from research conducted in the town of Gliwice. The primary objective of that research was assessment of life quality of the citizens, with the following factors influencing the result: media availability, level of security, public transport and goods delivery, assessment of issues of municipal management and health protection, as well as entertainment and education. To sum up the research data, the research included assessment of the local authorities actions. The research was based on a survey.
