The use of wind to obtain energy requires building infrastructure that significantly affects the perception of the landscape. The creation of this type of investment is preceded by a long-term procedure. A landscape assessment should be part of it. Landscape assessment is a component of many studies. These are, for example, reports on the impact of the project on the environment. Landscape expertise, which is a separate study, is more and more often required by the Regional Directorates for Environmental Protection. Expert opinions are prepared according to various methodologies and at a very diverse substantive level. The aim of this study was a qualitative analysis of selected studies in which the landscape was assessed. Problems related to the evaluation of the landscape intended for the planned wind farms in Poland were also diagnosed. 100 documents from 35 communes from 9 voivodeships were analyzed. The studies were prepared in the years 2004–2016. Short, not very detailed studies, prepared at a low substantive level, dominate. The studies are characterized by a very poor graphic design and a small number of figures and maps. The proposals of recommendations regarding the scope of expert studies developed so far are not very practical, extremely time-consuming and, most importantly, they are not obligatory. Efforts should be made to develop a universal, unified method of preparing landscape expertise and to establish a common substantive scope for all investments. It would also be advisable to include institutions dealing with the protection of monuments and cultural landscapes in the teams which are agreeing on these documents.

Wykorzystanie wiatru w celu pozyskania energii wymaga budowania infrastruktury, która wpływa znacząco na wizualną percepcję krajobrazu. Powstanie tego typu inwestycji poprzedza długotrwała procedura, której częścią powinna być ocena krajobrazu. Ocena krajobrazu jest składową wielu opracowań o charakterze studialnym, m.in. raportów o oddziaływaniu przedsięwzięcia na środowisko. Ekspertyzy krajobrazowe, stanowiące załączniki do raportów, są coraz częściej wymagane przez regionalne dyrekcje ochrony środowiska. Dokumentacje tego rodzaju przygotowywane są jednak według różnych metodyk i na bardzo zróżnicowanym poziomie merytorycznym. Celem niniejszej pracy była analiza jakościowa wybranych opracowań, w których oceniano krajobraz. Przeprowadzono ponadto diagnozę głównych problemów, związanych z ocenami krajobrazu projektowanych, lądowych farm wiatrowych w Polsce.
