The Australian members of the coccinellid tribe Sticholotidini are revised. The tribe in Australia consists of the genus Sticholotis Crotch and a new monotypie genus Chaetolotis gen. nov. (type species: Ch. amy sp. nov.) and is restricted in its distribution to the tropical and subtropical parts of Queensland and coastal New South Wales. Nesolotis Miyatake, 1966 and Paranesolotis Hoang, 1982 are synonymised with Sticholotis Crotch, 1874 (new synonyms). Among five currently recognized species of Sticholotis in Australia, three are described as new (S. culleni, S. cooloola, S. tozer). Gymnoscymnus explanatus Blackburn, 1895 is synonymised with G. quadrimaculatus Blackburn, 1892 (=Sticholotis quadrimaculata). The lectotypes are designated for: Gymnoscymnus explanatus Blackburn and Sticholotis redimita Weise. Nomenclatural history, diagnoses and distribution are provided for each species. Keys to the genera and species are also presented.

Australodon gen. nov. is described for A. nearnsi sp. nov. from subtropical rainforests of the southern Queensland and northern New South Wales in Australia. Australodon belongs in Cerambycinae but it cannot be placed in any recognized tribe based on adult morphology; it is considered a genus incertae sedis, awaiting further research on higher classification of Cerambycinae. The males of Australodon have massive saber-tooth-like mandibles not frequent in other Cerambycinae members.

Periptyctus Blackburn, 1895 is redescribed and transferred from Endomychidae to Corylophidae, Periptyctinae subfam. nov. Pakalukodes gen. nov. (type species: P. bimaculatus sp. nov.) is described from Queensland (Australia) and placed in Periptyctinae. Selected adult and larval features characterizing the subfamily are compared with those of other corylophid taxa and with members of the families Coccinellidae, Endomychidae and Latridiidae.

A new bark-gnawing beetle genus Sinopeltis gen. nov., with two species (S. jurrasica sp. nov. (type species) and Sinopeltis amoena sp. nov.), is described based on two well-preserved impression fossils. Specimens were collected from the Middle Jurassic Jiulongshan Formation in Daohugou Village, Shantou Township, Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia, China from a lacustrine paleoenvironment, making it the oldest fossil of the family. Sinopeltis is placed into Peltinae incertae sedis.

A new genus of Thanerocleridae, Archaeozenodosus bellus Yu and Kolibac gen. et sp. nov., is described and illustrated from the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian, ca. 99 Ma) amber near the Hukawng Valley of northern Myanmar, making it the first Mesozoic record of the family. Morphological characters preserved in the Burmese amber highlight the diversity of thaneroclerids during the Late Mesozoic and provide data for future phylogenetic studies of Thanerocleridae.
