Szymborska Once AgainThe review discusses the volume Unthinkable coincidence. On Poetry by Wisława Szymborska edited by Joanna Grądziel-Wójcik and Krzysztof Skibski. In six parts of the book the authors of Unthinkable coincidence… point out nad investigate the most important issues present in the poetic work of the Nobel Prize laureate: the anthropological perspective, the unanthropocentric model of humanity and human condition, existential and metaphysical problems, philosophical contexts, irony, figures of memory, silence, uncertainty and helplessness, models of poetics and metrics of Szymborska’s poems. The last two parts of the volume focus on translations of Szymborska’s poems into English, Bulgarian, Czech and Slovak, on Szymborska’s translations of French baroque poets and on her images in Polish media form 1995 to 2012 and her posthumous traces in German newspapers. In the conclusion the reviewer describes the volume as the first really significant Polish collection of essays on Szymborska’s poetry since her death in 2012.

This article is a short presentation of God existance in Julian Tuwim’s works. In the early period of Julian Tuwim literal output, in juveniles and Czyhanie na Boga (Wailing fo r God), Sokrates tańczący (Dancing Socrates), Siódma jesień (Seventh Autumn), Slowa we krwi (Words in Blood), God is shown with a passion and nostalgia. But afterwords its position changed and was usually depicted as Jesus Christ. God became a sinonime of lost love, order, consolation in the article of awe existance, justice which lack of them is visible for Tuwim. God is a creation power and women become deified by him. It is hard to talk about transcendental experience in Tuwim’s poetry. There is no way out to the history, society and culture.

In [2] we proved two kinds of mechanisms of preventing the blow up in a quasilinear non-uniformly parabolic Keller-Segel systems. One of them was a priori boundedness from below of the Lyapunov functional. In fact, we were able to present a condition under which the Lyapunov functional is bounded from below and a solution exists globally. In the present paper we prove that whenever the Lyapunov functional is bounded from below the solution exists globally.

The article is a tentative analysis of the construction of reality created in Bolesław Lešmian’s lyric poetry; an attempt to specify its most important elements, the relationships between them and the main mechanisms which control the poetical world of the author of Łąka [The Meadow). The discussion centres on the motifs of existence and non-existence, death and nothingness, time and space, as well as the creation of Leśmian’s characters, especially God, who is presented in a variety of images (from the presentation of the poetic consequences of Nietzsche’s conception of God’s death, depriving him of his omnipotence, placing him outside the world and his humanization to his pantheistic diffusion into the reality created in the poems).

The author of the article discusses the great variety of the visions of the figure of God and the heaven in the revolutionary poetry between 1918 and 1939. God, the religion, the church or the synagogue were the symbols of the social oppression and the injustice or, on the contrary, the figure of God, especially Christ, was created as the most significant revolutionist and the symbol of the new, communist order. The article offers a presentation of many revolutionary, atheistic lyrics, which connect communist ideology with Jewish or Christian religious symbols. It is focused on the former futurists’ poetry (by Aleksander Wat, Bruno Jasieński, Anatol Stern) and the lyrics by the communist propagandists of the inter-war epoch.

The article is an attempt to interpret Maciej Robert’s poetic output to date. It provides a description of the poet’s most crucial means of expression, his unique manner of imagining and the main thematic areas which are present in his poems. Another subject of reflection the articles focuses on are also the transformations his poetry undergoes and the significant inspirations he draws from such authors as Tomasz Różycki and Krzysztof Siwczyk.

Content available remote Global existence of solutions to a chemotaxis system with volume filling effect
100%
EN
A system of quasilinear parabolic equations modelling chemotaxis and taking into account the volume filling effect is studied under no-flux boundary conditions. The resulting system is non-uniformly parabolic. A Lyapunov functional for the system is constructed. The proof of existence and uniqueness of regular global-in-time solutions is given in cases when either the Lyapunov functional is bounded from below or chemotactic forces are suitably weakened. In the first case solutions are uniformly bounded in time, in the second one it is shown that a uniform bound is not possible.

This paper is a study of Tadeusz Różewicz’s text-creating activities, as evidenced by a handwritten page (currently held in the Ossolineum archives in Wrocław) dated by the poet June 13, 1968. The subject of the analysis is the process of building the poem “Twarz,” which was published, in a slightly changed form, as “Koniec” in the volume Regio (1969). Notes on the margins of the main text, present in three versions, open up historical and personal contexts related to the Holocaust, the anti-Semitic campaign of the state authorities of the Polish People’s Republic in March 1968, and to the May 68 revolt in Paris.

The article constitutes an attempt at analysing the function of creation of space in Radosław Kobierski's (b. 1971) postmodern novel Ziemia Nod (Warszawa 2010). The novel recounts the fates of several dozen characters, Poles and Jews, between the interwar period and the first few years of the Polish People’s Republic who all inhabit the topography of Tarnów as reconstructed by Kobierski in literature with an antiquarian exactness, care, and precision. The pre-war space of the city is a textual sign defining social, religious and/or ethnic belonging of individual characters as well as their identity. During the war and after its conclusion the abovementioned space undergoes disintegration, and Tarnów becomes a figure of the Holocaust, death and irreparable loss.

The purpose of the study was the analysis of motif of sea in M. K. E. Baczewski’s lyrics volume Morze i inne morza (2006). This motif is not significant in Polish old and present-day poetry, but rather frequent. Morze i inne morza is based on many incoherent inspirations and associations of various pictures. For Baczewski, it is the way of conceptualization of the chaos of the universe, unknowable abyss of reality and the allegory of time and eternity.

In this paper we consider a model of chemorepulsion. We prove global existence and uniqueness of smooth classical solutions in space dimension n = 2. For n = 3,4 we prove the global existence of weak solutions. The convergence to steady states is shown in all cases.
