The article is about the inner transformation of the soul in the context of regaining the similarity to God. The process of transforming the soul in the light of the New Testament is conducted by the Holy Trinity. Each of the Divine Persons leaves a “trace” in the soul, resulting from the internal relations between the Persons of the Holy Trinity. These “traces” are the topic of this article. It consists of four points, the first one deals with the analysis of the problem, the starting point is the resemblance of man to God, resulting from the act of creation. Next, actions and traces of the Divine Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the human soul are analysed. Restoring the image of God in the human soul is of christocentric character, visible in the acting of all Divine Persons. The article is based on thoughts of St. John of the Holy Cross, showing eventually the acting of God in the human soul as a mystery.
