Założeniem artykułu jest wypełnienie luki badawczej związanej z opisem historii partyjnej prasy regionalnej oraz jej roli w kształtowaniu lokalnych środowisk twórczych. Artykuł jest analizą historyczno- prasoznawczą ukazującego się w latach 1951–1956 „Życia i Kultury”, tygodniowego dodatku do „Głosu Szczecińskiego”, organu prasowego KW PZPR w Szczecinie. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie zmian struktury zawartości tygodnika, wskazanie dominujących form wypowiedzi, stałych cyklów oraz obszarów tematycznych. Jako narzędzie badawcze wykorzystano klucz kategoryzacyjny, uwzględniający tę część badań. Część empiryczną uzupełnia opis przemian zawartości treści pisma na tle wydarzeń politycznych na świecie i w kraju. Dodatki kulturalne regionalnych dzienników stanowią wciąż nieopisane źródło do dziejów życia artystycznego miast, jak i badań nad życiem codziennym jego mieszkańców.

The article is a historical and press analysis of the “Życie i Kultura” [Life and Culture] magazine, published in 1951–1956 as a weekly supplement in “Głos Szczeciński” [Voice of Szczecin], the newspaper of the KW PZPR in Szczecin. The aim of the article is to show changes in the structure of content of the weekly, to indicate dominant forms of expression, constant cycles, and thematic areas. As a research tool, a content analysis was used. The empirical part is supplemented with a description of changes in the content of the magazine against the background of political events in the world and in the country.

The purpose of this article is to describe the role and significance of the Czech-German Journalism Award in creating a dialogue between journalist circles in both countries (the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany). Their competition is a tool for developing strategic external communication between the two nations, the aim of which is to strengthen mutual understanding. A structural and qualitative analysis of text was used as the research method, while the mission was to describe the kinds of publishers/broadcasters awarded and characterize the problems discussed in the award-winning works of the two editions of the Award held to date.

This article is an comprehensive media-analysis of 'Życie i Kultura' [Life and Culture], a supplement published in 1951–1956 with the weekend edition of Głos Szczeciński, the newspaper of the Polish United Workers' Party in Szczecin, aimed at delineating its idea of regionalism, i.e. the character of regional identity that the paper was trying to construct for a population made up entirely of migrants. The article contains a list of journalists connected with Szczecin and the region; an account of serial articles featuring regional themes; an analysis of various aspects of regionalism in reportage; and a review of materials of regional interest that found their way into print.
