The article is an attempt to look at the relationship between the state and the market on the example of the prohibition of trade on Sunday through the prism of the personalistic economy. The article has a metaeconomic character. Its aim is to show that state intervention in the market mechanism in the form of the prohibition of trade on Sunday is not aimed at trade as an economic activity, but is a natural consequence of the community-forming function of the state. In the first part, the author presents a personalistic approach to the state and the market as well as relations between them. In turn, in the second part, he describes the essence of the Sunday dispute in the context of a personalistic approach to the market and shows that state intervention, consisting in protecting Sunday from being limited to the seventh working day, protects it against rationalization and marketization, i.e. its derealization.

The text is a review of the book “Metoda studium przypadku w edukacji biznesowej” [The case study method in business education], which is a summary of the project “Transfer of experiential and innovative teaching methods for business education” done under the auspices of The Leonardo da Vinci programme. The author of the review discusses the book, pointing out among its advantages a presentation of the case study method as an innovative tool for economic education that combines theory and practice by focusing on the personal and practical dimension of education. He also recognises its disadvantages, which include the failure to present the method’s weaknesses, due to a lack of reflection on the meaning of case study methodology in the context of the functions and tasks facing universities.
The article is metha-theoretical consideration of the economics interference in the field of culture, and particularly focuses on religion and the interference consequences. The problem of the boundaries of economics is presented in the context of a dispute about Sunday The thesis which the author tries to justify are as follows. Economics became a science that has no boundaries. The model based on which decision-making is done by homo economicus is no more an area for creative problem discussion and resolution but be¬came schematic, an analytical structure, based on which economics manages the annexation of those areas of human life which so far has not been the subject of her interest. One such area is the celebration of Sunday. In this example, the author tries to: first, demonstrate that the ossified analytical structure changes the meaning of the stu-died phenomenon, and as such conclusions drawn from it are a false basis for economic policy, secondly, he indicates the causes of this ossification of the analytical structure and thirdly, propose a different approach to the studied phenomenon, called personalist economics.
