The paper presents an analytic way of determining loads that occur in the hip joint, with regard for the kinematics of the joint as well as human anthropometric features. The loads were determined considering the system as static, accepting that they result mainly from the weight of the relevant body members contributing to the loads in the joint. The presented analytical description was compared with results obtained by means of numerical techniques, and it was proved that changes of the man’s weight influence local loads at a chosen fragment of the human motor system. Knowledge on the extent of this influence in particular joints, makes it possible to select in an appropriate way a form of the treatment for particular diseases of the human motor system.

Physical properties of peat-muck, mineral-muck and muckous soils and the quality of hay from the object Mątwica-Kupiski flooded every year for 30 years with high rates of starch and brewing industry wastes have been presented. Three years ago the flooding rates were reduced to 200-300 mm/year. It was demonstrated that the top horizons of the soils did not loose their valuable features, were biologically active and sensitive to nitrogen transformations. On the components determined (K₂O, P₂O₄, Fe, Mg, Ca, Na, Mn, Cu, Zn) only the contents of potassinum and phosphorus were higher. The meadows on the muckous soils were more degraded and over-grown by Elymus repens. Hay contained high quantities of P, Mn, Fe and Zn, and was deficit in Ca, Mg and Na. The K content exceeded almost twofold the accepted feeding norms.
