In the article there are presented problems associate with determine search area during rescue operation at sea. We compare size of the search area and search effort available which is considerably smaller. Determining of search area was based on a new model which taking into consideration local hydro-meteorological conditions. As a conclusion we proposed determining of dynamic search area as possible solutions of that problem.
In the paper we propose two ways of reliability calculation of radar system in Vessel Traffic Services Zatoka. Reliability and availability of the system were calculated on the base of reliability of the system components. In the first approach there was assumed that system is series, in the second approach system is treated as a series-“m out of n”. We obtain different results. Conclusion is that choosing proper method of approach to system reliability and availability analysis is decisive in appropriate evaluation of those properties.
In the paper, there is presented a problem of search object drift during SAR operation. Presented method of conducting search takes into account probability of containment (POC) of searched object inside search area. Its also consider available endurance of SAR unit. Described method allows for achieving as good as possible average POC.
