W artykule przedstawiono analizę przydatności metody symulowanego obciążenia transformatorów do badania nagrzewania stacji transformatorowych górniczych. Porównano zjawiska związane z wydzielaniem ciepła w stacjach transformatorowych, badanych w warunkach zasilania i obciążenia zbliżonych do warunków pracy znamionowej oraz w stacjach badanych metodą symulowanego obciążenia. Wskazano na potrzebę opracowania zastępczej metody badawczej nagrzewania stacji transformatorowych o dużych mocach znamionowych, gdy badanie metodą bezpośredniego obciążenia jest technicznie niemożliwe lub nieuzasadnione z przyczyn ekonomicznych.

The paper concerns the methodology of testing transformer stations dedicated to be used in underground mines. The method of simulated loading currently used for testing temperature rise of transformer stations has been shown as inaccurate on the basis of experience and analysis of relevant standards, because it does not give the reliable value of temperature rise of components and air inside the station under test. This method may be used for testing temperature rise of transformer coils in a single transformer but not for transformer stations which are compound devices, assembled from many components. The result obtained by means of using the method of simulated loading is useless, because it does not concern all components of the station with the exception of the transformer coils. A transformer station tested this way may be dangerous because the method does not reveal important occurrences, influencing its failure-free and harmless work, for example the temperature of air around electrical protections. The paper also depicts the possibility of dangerous occurrences’ appearance such as an initiation of arc fault caused by overheating electric insulation. It has been underlined that the test measuring temperature rises must be conducted in conditions nearest to the rated working station. There has been stated that the use of the method is allowed on condition its successful validation. It has been pointed out that reliable substitutable method of testing high voltage transformer stations’ temperature rise must be obtained and used in cases where the method of direct loading is difficult to conduct or economically unjustified.
