In the paper I was aiming to increase knowledge about the participation of students at risk of early school leaving from four European schools from London (Woodside School), Rome (Leonardo da Vinci School), Kaunas (Jonas and Petras Vileisiai School) and Nicosia (B ‘District Gymnasium). In the first part I presented the problem of early school leaving in the European context, and I made a general review of literature about youth participation. The second part of the paper synthesizes information about the possibility of participation of young people in their school. The research has been undertaken within the framework of international educational project “Future Youth School Forums”, financed by a grant from Erasmus+ and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

W poniższym artykule dążyłam do wzbogacenia wiedzy na temat partycypacji uczniów zagrożonych przedwczesnym zakończeniem nauki z czterech europejskich szkół z Londynu (Woodside School), Rzymu (Leonardo da Vinci School), Kowna (Jonas and Petras Vileisiai School) i Nikozji (B’ District Gymnasium). W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiłam problematykę przedwczesnego porzucania szkoły w kontekście europejskim oraz dokonałam ogólnego przeglądu ujęć teoretycznych nad partycypacją młodzieży. W drugiej części artykułu podjęłam próbę charakterystyki uczniów przedwcześnie kończących naukę z czterech europejskich szkół w opinii nauczycieli oraz opinię nauczycieli i uczniów na temat możliwości partycypacji młodzieży w swojej szkole.

The purpose of this study is to present intergenerational learning through the use of ICT (Information & Communications Technology) as a tool with which to reduce early school leaving among immigrant pupils. The first part builds on a review of current literature and contemporary assumptions about learning and intergenerational learning as a particular form of learning. The second part of the study presents the findings from a review of policies on reducing early school leaving among immigrant pupils in Europe. The conclusion focuses on putting forward recommendations for practice with regards to the use of ICT for intergenerational learning in order to improve the educational performance of immigrant pupils.
