Defining business success is very difficult. Even for one industry, there is no universal definition. The case is more difficult in the case of sports clubs. Sports clubs operate in various areas. The first difficulty is identifying these areas. The second is to identify the goals of the sports enterprise. The researcher in the article identified the areas of activity of the sports club. Later he defined his goals that lead to success. The article presents the author's model of the researcher. The implementation of goals in given planes contributes to the company's success. The company's successes at various levels pursue the overarching goal. The main goal of a sports club is its survival and functioning on a professional level. Identified levels of success are: sports, image, financial and marketing success. The achievement of these successes is possible thanks to minor goals. In the last part, the researcher outlined guidelines for Polish football clubs.

Zdefiniowanie sukcesu przedsiębiorstwa jest bardzo trudne. Nawet dla jednej branży nie istnieje uniwersalna definicja. Zagadnienie to jest bardziej złożone w przypadku klubów sportowych, działają one bowiem w bardzo różnych obszarach. Pierwsza trudność to identyfikacja tych obszarów. Drugą jest identyfikacja celów przedsiębiorstwa sportowego. W artykule przedstawiono autorski model pozwalający na identyfikację płaszczyzn działania klubu sportowego i związanych z nimi płaszczyzn sukcesu: sportowej, wizerunkowej, finansowej i marketingowej. Określono także cele, które prowadzą do sukcesu. Na końcu przedstawiono rekomendacje dla polskich klubów piłkarskich.
