Abstrakty

EN

The subject, tools and mechanism of information warfare have been presented in the article. The areas of information warfare and relations between them have been defined. The synthesis of American, German and Russian outlooks in this matter have been conducted. The increasing role of information and information systems on the modern battlefield have been characterised. It has been stated that influencing only information control systems may enable the enemy to halt or even destroy essential elements of civilian and military infrastructure. The attacker may conceal its identity, whereas the attacked country will not be able to indicate clearly the aggressor. Information warfare elements are used in all possible military operations scenarios. Applying information warfare tools may cause not only losses results from battles but lead shortly to an extreme destruction of the whole country system organised in a modern way.
