Abstrakty
Spanish and French are considered to be analytical languages, compared to Polish, a Slavic synthetic language. The analytical or synthetic nature of a given language is related to two key notions of contrastive linguistics: economy and redundancy, which can be analysed at several grammatical levels. In his research the author is exclusively interested in the formal aspect of the matter, in the widest meaning of the word. French, being the most analytical language, should prove itself to be much more redundant than Polish, and slightly more redundant than Spanish. However, the coefficient of formal economy or redundancy varies according to a given context and the structure type which is object of comparison. This will lead to prove that the mentioned coefficient can not be evaluated in isolated contexts, but in all the structures of the corpus.
