Abstrakty
The author proposes 'emporialism' as a term describing the supremacy of market place ('emporio') over all the other aspects of modern life, threatening modern democracies. He suggests that growing gap between rich elites and underpayed majority jeopardises the very existence of democracy. The dominant role of international companies that do not care for the welfare of local communities worldwide may be justly called market totalitarianism. In Polish reality, there is little difference between the false promises of 'bright future' that former communists used to grant to 'all' while new capitalist PR specialist promise it to 'every individual' willing to take it. 'Emporialism' is generating growing social discrepancies and therefore it is not pogressive but regressive leading to the new feudal period and slavery
