Bożena Sikorska-Nowacka, a Polish philologist, graduate of the Faculty of Humanities at the Nicolaus Copernicus University (UMK) in Toruń, museologist, from 1960 to 1992 head of the Scientific and Educational Department of the Grudziadz Museum, editor of the first permanent museum magazine in Poland entitled ‘Informator Muzeum w Grudziądzu’ and all museum publications from invitations to exhibition catalogs. Author of articles and press releases. Active organizer and implementer of many popularization and educational activities. Animator of musical life in Grudziadz – in 1962–1992 she organized 193 chamber concerts of both bands and soloists from Poland and abroad – under the general name of Museum Candlelight Evenings. She combined her professional work with social activities by holding various positions in Grudziadz cultural societies. Her achievements were honored with state and departmental awards, as well as numerous diplomas and prizes. She received, among others, the Silver Cross of Merit,The honorary badge Meritorious Activist of Culture and the Golden Badge „For Care over Monuments”.
