The beginning of the 21st century was a period in which a significant part of the organizations were still struggling with a large number of simple and repetitive processes. A turning point in this situation was the emergence of technology in the form of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The dynamics and scale of RPA's development are best evidenced by the fact that the size of the RPA market in 2021 was estimated at over 2 billion USD, which, compared to 2000, meant an increase of over 160% (Statista Research Department, 2021). However, automation is a technology that has certain limits and extremes. They concern both the type of a solution, the scope and results of an operation, tools and techniques of operation, as well as the effects, benefits and costs of its application. At the same time, the above-mentioned limitations create space for the development of new and pioneering concepts, such as hyperautomation. In practice, hyperautomation shows a strong correlation with artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, RPA and automation. Moreover, its development is strongly determined by the development of hyperconnectivity. Nevertheless, in theory, hyperautomation is an issue that is currently at the stage of scientific conceptualization. (original abstract)
