Abstrakty

W tej części opracowania zaprezentowano zagadnienia finansowe i inwestycyjne w obszarze funkcjonowania funduszy emerytalnych w Europie. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane statystyczne dotyczące funduszy emerytalnych prowadzących działalność w krajach europejskich w latach 1997-2000. Zarówno wybrane aspekty finansowe, jak i działalność inwestycyjną funduszy przedstawiono dla krajów, których dane są dostępne i akceptowane zgodnie z wymogami statystyki unijnej. Uwzględnienie unijnej nomenklatury, odróżniającej tzw. autonomiczne fundusze emerytalne (autonomous pension funds) od innych form strukturalnych systemu emerytalnego (np. non-autonomous pension funds również w ramach supplementary pension funds)v powoduje, że objęte niniejszą analizą fundusze emerytalne należą do pierwszego rodzaju funduszy.(fragment tekstu)

The article is a continuation of the first part published in the previous number of "Wiadomości Ubezpieczeniowe" (11-12/2003). The first part refered to insurance market in Europe whereas this part presents the situation on the European market of pension funds. The Author investigating the market in the period between 1997-2000 observed that in a few countries the number of pension fund increased, however in the greater part of countries there was a tendency to concentration. At the beginning of this period (1997) the number of active members of pension funds in the Second Pillar who retired was lower than at the end of this period (2000). It demonstrates a process of development of this segment of pension insurance. In the majority of European countries (excluding the Great Britain) the level of investment activity of pension funds had a growing tendency. The funds invested their financial means first of all in securities with a fixed rate of profit, much less in securities with a variable rate of profit and still less in the realty.(original abstract)
