The second part discusses the role, which Environmental Information Systems (EIS) play in the environmental conscious functioning of enterprise. The focus is placed on the Corporate Environmental Management Information System (CEMIS). Authors in the individual chapters present both state-of-thearts as well as practical applications of such information systems. Moreover the overview of systems available on the market is presented. The third part concerns the importance of environmental performance measuring. The emphasis is placed on the appropriate indicators definition and their application also for risk assessment. The fourth part highlights the dimensions of decision making in sustainable organization. It concerns barriers and facilitators of environmental orientation in the industry. The fifth, sixth and seventh part present the innovative approach to eco-friendly organization and coordination of transport, logistics processes and operations management. The information management and decision making in manufacturing and service organizations is highlighted. The scope of the last part encompasses topics related to the modeling and monitoring of climate change. It introduces problems of image processing for weather forecasts, data management for air and water pollution monitoring and hydrological measuring. The book provides a wide spectrum of issues allowing one to explain how computing science can contribute to sustainable resource management. The book is addressed to the broad audience. Especially I recommend the book to the young scientists who seek inspiration for their studies in the area of Operations Management, Logistics, Environmental Engineering and Computer Science. The advantage of book is its interdisciplinary scope and focus in this context on sustainability.(fragment of text)
