The possibility of obtaining financial support from the national resources and namely from the EU structural funds should be utilized by the companies. An exceptional opportunity to increase competitiveness of woodworking companies and firms of related industries in the Czech Republic consists in the foundation of a wood cluster. The below described advantages of established cluster may be a motivation tool for companies that fear a loss of independence and leakage of strategic corporate data in the formation of such a cluster. Activities focused on its establishment may be co-funded from the Operational Programme Industry and Enterprise. In the following years, member companies in the cluster can apply for subsidy from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovations, which is focused on the promotion of enterprises with a higher innovation potential.(original abstract)
