The article discusses the role of coopetition in the development of tourism enterprises and regions. The aim of the paper is to show the possibility of increasing tourism enterprise innovativeness through the coopetition in cluster. This article shows the possibilities of utilization of this cooperation form, for example, the Tourist Cluster Initiative of Bielsko-Biala in Poland. The paper presents the results of focus group interviews conducted among members of this cluster. The results clearly emphasize the effect of synergy, which may result in an access to new markets, in cases of cooperation with companies from other regions. The possibility of creating long lasting cooperation is significantly placed on the list of advantages. Support from different institutions of the sector may give notable effects on the formation of tourist companies' cooperation, which gives rise to expansion of tourism product in the region. This support is vital, as interactions of tourism companies often lead to many barriers and difficulties. There is a lack of confidence shown by the respondents, with scepticism about the advantages of cooperation. Furthermore, difficulties in finding proper partners suggest the conclusion that there is a great necessity to support companies in this area. (original abstract)
