Abstrakty
Stany Zjednoczone traktowały powstanie Europejskiej Wspólnoty Gospodarczej (EWG) i kolejnych form integracji europejskiej (Wspólnoty Europejskiej i Unii Europejskiej) jako doskonały sposób na "zapewnienie stabilnego i demokratycznego rozwoju państw europejskich, z którymi łączą Stany Zjednoczone Ameryki (USA) silne więzi gospodarcze oraz na utrzymanie pokoju i bezpieczeństwa w Europie". Powojenna pomoc finansowa i gospodarcza przekazana przez USA w postaci planu Marshalla miała właśnie służyć odbudowie efektywnej, sprawnej i silnej grupy demokratycznych państw europejskich, respektujących prawa człowieka i otwartą gospodarkę rynkową. It will not be a breakthrough to state that the global environment of security is dominated by great dynamics of changes and a high level of indeterminacy of the phenomena. The scale and dynamics of these factors cause necessity to change the optics and to adapt actions concerning the security in the Euro-Atlantic are adequately to a given situation. Those new challenge and threats are terrorism (including cyber-terrorism), the spread of massive destruction weapons, energetic (in)security or the so-called failed states. That is why it important that the United States of America and the European Union effectively cooperate with each other. Therefore, it might be worth thinking about the actual relation between them: Are they harmonious or tense What are the prospects for the future development of the mutual relations? Unfortunately, contrary to what politicians claim, the relations between them are not the best now. Certain common factors - successful operation in the near past, common roots and values as well as the traditions of cooperation - cannot blur the fact that there are deeper problems and tensions between the two side; of the transatlantic cooperation.
